Big John, LOL I didn't say my quad wasn't set up for racing. I said its not primarily set-up for DRAG racing. Believe it or not, it is in almost an identical set-up as when I used to compete in cross-country racing (I raced 4 seasons in the ATVCCS). That is why my quad still has full fenders, headlights/tail light, front bumper, racks, aftermarket suspension, aftermarket skidplates, aftermarket hand guards, heavy duty floorboards, etc. True enuf, I later added the nitrous bottle, rear sand tires and wheelie bar to help with drag racing, but that don't make it a true drag quad IMO. Most drag quads are typically STRIPPED DOWN and light as possible. They usually have cut fenders, no headlights and nothing extra like hand gaurds, skid plates, racks, floorboards, etc. FastFatBoy had a very nice 730cc drag Prairie and it looked alot different than mine does today. I wish I had a pic of his old drag prairie to show you the differences. It looked lean and mean...mine just looks like a stocker with fat sand tires and a loud pipe. lol Happy trails...:)

when I say setup for drag racing I mean most of the bikes will be there on crushlocks w/ 32s and clutched for mud racing. Clutching is the biggest problem for them. I'm pretty sure your bike IS NOT clutched for a set of 32s. just sayin

http://www.kawieriders.com/forum/member-pictures-movies/75575-pics-my-bike-spray-shotgun-dual-shock-wheelie-bar.html Mike here is a link to a pic of my old bike. You can copy and paste it for them if ya want. What's such a big deal about changing a few weights, spring, and tires. Some folks comming up with reasons why not to. I like that, that way they can be a big dog in the mud AND on the sand without actually doing it. If you don't want to run one or the other then just say,"No thanks sand/mud isn't my thing." Instead of,"My stuff is nasty but I'm just not clutched for it." I mean after all how cool would it be to smoke ol "Cocky Mikey" with a big, lifted, snorkled bog bike. That would really take a log off his fire huh. That's one reason why I like Jeff. Never have seen alot of trash talk from him. Just run ya bike. But then again all I have is a slow pile so what do I know about anything.LOL

I'll run him on my bone stock bike. I'm not scared. I know I'll get outran. I'm not scared to race though. I LOVE racing and probably made more drag strip passes than most of the people that post in the can am section. I will be racing some 300 ft stuff when I get my new motor built(still waiting on parts to even start it right now though, however I have picking around on my heads a little, just need a crank, and cylinders before I can do anything else really). BUT I am going to purchase myself some 26" scat traks here soon and will do a little playing.

Getting back on topic: SDMF, Do you have to run race gas with the turbo kit? Also, how does this turbo kit adjust the amount of boost? Does it adjust how much pressure bleeds off to the blow off valve, or does it change how fast the turbo spins? I have no idea how that works. (sorry if these are dumb questions... I know VERY little about turbos).

The boost is adjusted by adjusting the waste gate (you are right how it bleeds off) For about $100, you can get a boost controller which can make the adjustment alot easier (if thats something you wish to do) And don't worry, there's no dumb questions when it comes to turbo's. Most fallacies in regards to turbo's are due to people being mis-educated about how a turbo works. When done properly, there's no better way to make power.

So if you turn up the boost, do you have to use race gas at that time (to prevent predetonation)?

mikey, yes if you do throw some more boost to it your gunna need to run race gas, these engines are 10:1 which is kind of border line for a turbo setup in most cases. I wouldnt recommend putting more than 15psi on one. I HAVE heard of people throwing 25psi on em though.... supposedly on stock motors. Anything over 10psi I'de run race gas, especially w/ a stock ecm... as I dont know what the timing tables look like on these engines. IF your conservative enough w/ the tune(low enough timing and enough fuel) you'de probably be safe with on up to 20psi I guess.
