polaris diesel 500

ok so ive found a 1999 polaris 500 diesel and really just havent seen any of them. i was wondering if anybody on here has had any experience with them? also i was wondering if these are very good mud bikes? or if you coukld even snorkel and waterproof them enough to be drove in the water and or mud? also are they very dependable bikes? any help would be very helpful thanks!

    They are a 455cc....not a 500. They are basically a Sportsman with a diesel engine. They are really heavy and really slow. They did not sell very well so Polaris discontinued them after only a few years.
    Engine repairs were very expensive like a all diesel engines.
    Unless you have a worksite (construction) use for it, I'd keep looking for something else.

    I had one not long ago. Top speed of about 30. Like previously said unless your on a construction site or farming id pass on it and find something eles.
