Be ready to be at you dealer quite often with your Polaris. Hope you have a good Polaris dealer to support you warranty issues that you will encounter with the XP.

Lots of front end bushings shock bushings. Short lasting drive belt  Poor brake rotors warped. ETC..

If it were me, I'd be worried about those ball joints from day one.

We had two in our group. Both had trouble with the shifter forks... along with some other issues.

I must admit though... the power will make you smile. Not sure how it compares with a Brute.

    Good luck with yours.

Read thru the forum or do a search, this question has been asked and answered atleast weekly. Some have issues some don't just like any other product out there. Typically you only hear about the ones with problems on the forums, many many more positive scenarios than the negatives you will read on here.

A four-wheeled adventure will soon bring you happiness.

The belt's fine, it's how your riding or bigger tire's. If you use high when it need's to be in low, it will not last no time.
There has been to many problem's IMO to get a 850 right now, give them till 2011. Farmerboy's motor went out in his also. I would look at the 800's, tried and proven over the year's.

I would give Suzuki King 750 a good look. I own a 06 King 700 and its been a good quad for us.
You should be able to get a killer deal on an 09 King.

the 850 runs over the brute force.  I have had minor problems, the 850 is awesome.

I like my 850 but any 750 brute i have run next to will clean my clock till we get going real fast.Them brutes are geared to run down low.

I ran a Brute and beat him pretty easy,we are both stock except for tires, both running 26" tires.  Thats the only one that I've come across, both machines had approx  500 miles on them.I think the Brute is too light in the front end for the hill climbs that we ride week end and week out.

I really enjoy mine, 30" tires a few replaced bushing and 1 bad ball joint. pretty solid considering all the power that makes it to them tires. extremely fun to ride. not enough issues to turn me away from polaris. Had the 08 800 and loved it, but there is no comparison in the wow factor of the 850. and not to mention the motor sounds like a beast now. I've never had an issue with the belt. stay in low up to about 35 and only high when i know i'm gonna run fast for a little while.
