oil shooting uponto air box o8 brute 750i - Monday, March 08, 2010 9:16 PM ( #1 )
my buddys 08 brute force 750i has oil shooting, spiting, or slinging on the top of the air box and all over him    it has only happened twice and we cant figure out if it is when he rides a wheelie or tops it out down the highway    the brute still runs fine afterward you just have to put some more oil in it   the oil gets all over who ever rides it at the time and all over the air box  and under the handle bars and runs down the side of the engine
we cant figure oput where it comes from  and it doesnt leak the next time we ride just every now and then  has anyone else had this problem  any advice will be appreciated

O god.  Tell him to chill on the wheelies and topping it out until he does the Catch-Can Mod. Do a search for "catch can"

its not coming from the crank vent, the crank vent line goes in to the air box. so if it was the crank  vent line you would be getting the oil in side the air box. so doing the Catch can wont work on the oil being blown on him.  i have the catch can done on mine and it works great. but to fix this you need to find the correct vent line.

mine does this same thing. its coming from your handle bar pod. a few of the vent lines are ran to this pod.  either like you said he was popping to many wheelies or he over field something. did he just service the bike.  so check all the vent lines in the pod and will find the problem. just look for the one that has oil INSIDE the vent.

If he has rerouted the crankcase vent then it's coming from there. A catch can will solve this problem.

this happened to me, it was coming from the front diff, the vent line runs up under the pod, it only did it once to me and never again so i never did check in to it very much

Wide open throttle will also cause this not just wheelies.
