6" suspension lift on some 20x12 fuels and 35s call it a day

Get rid of the flares, tint whatever precentage you want, I would go with a 6'' suspension lift, Some 20x12 wheels in black (these would look good I think-http://www.performance4trucks.com/Wheels/XD795-Hoss-20x9-with-8-on-6-5-Bolt-Pattern-Matte-Black.aspx?t_c=11&t_s=210&t_pt=100106&t_pl=5352&t_pn=W%2fPXD79529080318) Put some 35's on it like mentioned. Probably go with some h.i.d's and a good exhaust/intake. Exhaust-Magnaflow or Flowmaster. Intake- Afe or some good company. That's all I can think of for now.

A 6in with 35s doesnt look so good to me, makes the tires look small. Id do a 6in with 20s and 37s

Lindenboyz- have you EVER tried to put 37" tires on one of these trucks with only a 6"? IT WONT WORK! It bugs me when people give out false advise.

What I would do, paint fender flares color of truck, limo window tint (illegal), 6" turned down for a good ride with 33's. A 35" will fit if you crank the torsion bars up and put a true 6" block in the rear. Most kits come with a 4.5" block for the rear. As for tires and wheels, I would go with chrome... Black is very difficult to make look good on a truck... As for tires, you looking for mileage Or just pure good looks? Mileage I would go with toyo mt. Pure good looks, can't beat an Interco bogger...

I had a 02 Tahoe with 6" lift and 37s... A 37 will fit with a 6" lift, although it will scrub a bit and the air dam will need some slight trimming. Or an aftermarket bumper. A 35/37 on a 18/20 would look great in chrome or black and chrome with that color IMO. And a toyo mt is hard to beat, but I'm a big fan of the kumho mt as wel. There not quite as loud when they get some miles on them (at least mine were that way anyhow). I like the color matched flares as well.

No way 37's fit. I have seen it done and have done it but dang that's a lot of trimming... He would be better puttin a 4" and body lift on for 37's.

Now, a 6" with 37's ON STOCK WHEELS will fit to an extent. They will still rub. Stick some offset wheels and 37's on one and even with the bars cranked wearing out front end parts they will rub stupidly. Y'all think what ya want. I WOULD NOT do 37's on a 6".

37" kumhos run small but I had them on my truck with very minor trimming, the rims didn't have much offset to them at all (compared to stock). Failed to mention in my above post, 37s will fit, but you have to want them to haha. I've seen quite a few fit nicley with no trimming with the addition of a 3" body on top of the 6, but I'm not a big fan of body lifts. To each his own, yes cramming a big tire with the bars cranked will wear out the front end, but so will any tire over a 32/33 on a iFS suspension. I'm not meaning to argue man, Just tossing around my opinion. Dont really have anything to prove

I understand. The way you typed it was like they fit no problem with a 6". It's all good. I have put 41's on an ifs z71 with a 6" and 3" body... Good idea? NO. Lol

37's will fit with a 6" lift on stock wheels or wheels with a rim size close to stock with stock offset. i know people running 35's with NO lift on stock wheels and fit fine. looks stuffed, but fit. once you start throwing aftermaket wheels into the equation that stick out, then you run into clearance issues with the rear of the fender and the front bumper/valence. I have wheels on my HD that stick out, i could just barely clear 33's stock, now i barely clear 37's with a 6" due to my wheels.

Here's my 03 2500HD duramax with a 6" full drop pro comp lift and 37" Super Swamper SSR on 20x14 fuel hostage with -76 offset.  Everyone said they wouldn't fit and they did.  Granted it is an HD so it does sit a little higher.  Very minimal trimming of plastic only as well with no rubbing.  To me black looks better on the pewter color.

as for big tires on stock rims, I personally think that is dumb.  It looks like you couldn't afford rims.  I understand some people like that look though.  Personally I think nothing looks better or more intimidating than meeting a lifted truck with a wide stance.

ive saw 37s on stock wheels with just a body lift. my opinion is why lift it to run stock wheels? 99-up 1/2 tons will just fit 35s with a 6". even then ive had to do some trimming.

tires were right at 37 tall and 12.81 wide off the rim.  The rim was a 20x14 with a -76 offset which makes it even harder to clear a taller tire due to the fact of how far it sticks out.

With it being a 14" wide wheel, yor tires MAY have measured 36 once on the wheel. Did you ever measure with em on the wheel?

lol dude you need to get your facts right. Lindenboyz actually has 37s with only aftermarket keys turned up which is like 2". so if the op will just get some rims that aren't too far off of stock bs they'll fit no problem.

either way if it measure out to a 36 or not it still fit and didn't rub at all.  The rim offset makes a huge difference on what tire you can run.  You can run a 38 on a truck with a -25 offset, and put that same tire on a -76 offset and it may rub like ****.  I do this for a living lol.  Had an 08 silverado 1500 and had 38x15.50-20 mud grapplers on a 6" suspension and 3" body eventhough people said they wouldn't fit.  Had 3" wheel spacers as well.

Maxxis come to the Carolinas man, almost every 99-07 classic around has true dual straights, ford keys cranked up HIGH, factory wheels and 35's and 37s, and some even have drop shackles.  I like the stock wheels, good price on the truck too OP, I'd level it or run a 6" and 37" tires and get some gears and tint the windows.

I agree with zillad, I dont see 37s fitting with a 6in lift. I work at an automotive shop and we have to trim the plastic and the bumper just fitting some 285s and it doesnt matter stock wheels or not. And yes we even crank the torsion bars up. Chevy just doesnt give you much room in front or behind the tire. I personally would do a mild lift and some 33s. Any bigger lift on a 1/2 ton, things break and wear out quickly. We had a kid with an 8in lift on his chevy and wanted some 355s on 20s, they were almost $800 a pop! And that was at our cost, can't remember the brand he wanted though.

Yes 37's will fit with a 6" if you crank torsion bars all the way up. A we all know what happens when you do that... And you WILL STILL RUB! I am done with this subject. OP, go buy 37's and put them on there and see what happens. Good luck.

It also depends on what kind of lift you buy. If you get a superlift 6-7.5, fts 6.5, or cognito 7-9, you can fit 37's without having bad front end angles due to the lift dropping the diff a full 6". Just about all the other lifts use extended knuckles and only drop the diff 4.5 to 5". Therefore you have to crank the torsion bars 1.5" just to be at 6". A full drop lift is going to run you at least $1600, where you can get a knuckle lift for around a grand. Also, plan on regearing the front and rear diffs for anything over a 35 unless you like having no power.

i drive a 2000 z71 with a 6in lift and 35s everyday keys are half way up and no scrubbing whatsoever. as far as 37s it would be a really tight fit with some stock wheels. personally i would take the over fenders off 6in fabtek suspension lift 18 or 20in XD Badlands and a 35-12.50 nitto mud grappler or toyo m/t. also take a look at the irok nd by superswamper they are nice too. if your anywhere around the statesboro ga area pm me i work at line-x southeast customs and i can put you some stuff together

If you run a full drop kit you can run a bigger tire as well due to the fact that it uses factory spindles and doesn't widen the track width.  I'd say 6" suspension and 35's on 20x12 and call it a day.  It will give it the wide stance and still not have to worry about rubbing.

if i can dig up a picture i had a buddy with a 4.3L 4x4 '93 full size with just a 3" bodylift, turned keys, and 40" ground hawgs on 10" wide wheels... granted, the gh's run short so lets say they probly measured out to a 38'' tire... but they fit and he rode on them for ever. had to barely trim the front bumper too.

Just to add to the pot, Im clearing 40s blown out to 38.5s with just a 3 inch block and 3 inch body, and the rims have 4 inch backspacing and the only time they scrub is when i turn and the suspension flexes a good amount.

But back on topic I say leveling kit (if needed) and a 2 inch lift with 33s on 18s

YES. Just put torsion keys out of an older body style ford on it to save you some money. they are the same size as after market torsion keys. 33s and some wheels. HID's tint whatever else you want. I wouldnt go with a lift

And your front end is completely maxed out...

My point is this, yes y'all are correct you can make 37's fit with a 6" lift and your front balljoints, and rod ends absolutely maxed out.

If you just buy an out of the box 6" lift and are not interested in tearing up your truck and replacing parts at every oil change, 35's MAX!

I wouldn't say 35s max.  You can run the bars at stock settings with a 6" lift and clear 35s no problem, but alot goes into factoring tire size.  You need to know what size offset your rim is going to have because like I said earlier a truck that can run a 37 on a stock wheel more than likely can't come close to clearing it with a -76 offset wheel or 20x14.

Your right my front is maxed, but all i had to do was trim the valance slightly. 37s with just keys is still impressive. I respect what your trying to get across. Yes if you want the front end to last 35s are your best bet. I just think a 35 looks small on a 6in but to each there own. It all has to do with what you want.
