I am looking into putting 2 wakeboard tower speakers and an amp on my ranger for some tunes. I was wondering what everyone is running on their sxs's. What brand tower speaker and amp size has everyone had good results with? I am looking to get a little bass as well as a loud clear sound. Any advice would help even if its not about wakeboard speakers. Thanks for looking!!!

UPS just dropped mine off last night.  I got two 8" Bazooka Compression Horn tubbies and a JL 2 channel class d Amp to power them.  I'm gonna be hooking it up this weekend, but I've heard the exact same setup before and it sounds killer.
I was gonna get the 8" bazooka double ended tubbies until I heard the compression horn ones.  They are loud and very clear.

The Bazooka 8" Tubbies WITH Compression Horns are very loud and clear...a little on the large side...but great sound.

Memphis is also coming out with a nice little tubbie here in a couple weeks...it has a 6" WOOFER and compression horn...its packaged a bit better than the Bazooka IMO...but we will see how it sounds.

I will say this a friend of mine has 4 of the Bazookas on his RZR 4 and its not the prettiest setup, but its loud and clear and when he has it turned up..most folks turn theirs off.

You might like the sound of these: BOSS MRWT69 6x9 WAKEBOARD SPEAKER....

I have a couple of buddies that put them on the SXS's and they sound great. They are waterproof and put out a great deal of bass...

How big are they in person? The dimensions seem pretty big so I was just curious.
Does the mounting hardware thats included fit a 1 3/4" tube?

the hardware kit has the 1 3/4 inserts.  they are not too bulky, but i guess the housing helps the sound quality because i have heard some of the cans and these sound much better

I agree with ibrokeit, I have a set of the KMT6's with a 400 watt Pyle amp on my RZR and they sound great. I also have the J-Strong roof and put a Fusion radio that holds the ipod pushin 4 5 1/4 and 2 6.5" Polk Audio Marine Speakers and I must say it jams pretty good. I got the wakeboard tower bar from Offroad Sound Systems to put on it when I get home from offshore so i'm hoping both KMT6's will fit on it. For the money ya can't beat the Kickers and the Pyle amps.

Where is everyone mounting the tower speakers on their Rangers? I have a metal roof and it comes down in the rear and I am not able to mount them on the top tube of the roll bar.

As mentioned in a couple of posts above, I bought a wake tower bar for mine from Josh at Offroad Sound Systems.  I'm pretty sure he has one that fits a Ranger too.  If you don't like that one he already has made, he may be able to build you one like you want.

If you have an Interstate Battery distributor go see them and ask for a U-1 gel battery for a scooter or powered wheel chair. They can usually get the referbed batteries cheap and they work very well as an auxilary battery for a Ranger. I got mine for $15.00 It is the same size as the stock battery and fits in the extra space under the front hood. I run Serius, a Pioneer deck, a 200 watt amp and 3 driving lights and have no problems.

i had my 2 amps and head unit mounted to the roof.  i will put them back there when i put my ranger back together, but all the wireing will be inside the cage

rjbrooks is right. i have two wet sounds pro 60 tower speakers. all through not the threesome, it is the same speakers in a different enclosure. i have yet to hear anything louder without going crazy with a 6+ speaker setup. i cant listen to it all the way up an it is still crystal clear.

I found these 6x9 Polk Air natique(painted them with bedliner) on CL for $100 and got a Dual amp from walmart for $55. Ran the power up through the roll cage and put the amp in the roof.

Run it off a ipod nano that just clips to the amp. I left the front of the box for the amp open so I can reach up and adjust the gain for volume.
