GMC ftw..

because the Sierra has a "built" tranny assuming it should be good to go for a while.. and because its got the 5.3 which has a little more power than the 4.8.. also because you seem to be having a tough time finding anyone on here interested in your Vinson.

Something else to consider is that the Z-71 is going to have alot more features than the 4x4 W/T Chevy like power windows, locks, nicer seat, push button 4wd, and skid plates. I had a truck like the 03 (mine was an 06) and while it was still a nice truck, the extra features are nice to have IMO.

How do you know the Silvy is a WT package?  As far as I can tell it may be an LS.  seats should be the same in both trucks even the color.?

another thing, why would the chevy have "drop shackles"?

I was just assuming it was, as this is how my old truck looked when I bought it. It was a W/T with the Texas Package which did come with a seat like the nicer trucks. It did not have any side moulding which is what I was going off of  (it must have been removed on this truck) Apparently I was wrong though if the truck is all power (must me an LS).

To each his own but that looks pretty dumb with the front raised and the back lowered IMO. Plus you won't be able to pull a trailer worth a crap with it set up like that. But like I said, if that's what you like then go for it.

GMC, looks better and has the big V8.  2002 chevy trucks are a work horse.  I sold mine with 230,000 on it and it ran fine.

its not extra, its just enough IMO

the bedrails would be the first thing Id remove.  and redo the exhaust.  It has clear corners and has the reflectors removed like I did to my white sierra.  it also has the more desirable 03 silverado tail lights and the Escalade handles.

kinda seems backwards, dropping a lifted truck? i could see if the truck was STOCK and it squated a little bit. like mine does, but you cant even really call it squating

I like the GMC. Of course I drive an '04 GMC Z71 5.3L so I'm kinda partial. I just wish I could find the clear lights like that for the front of mine.

And to each his own, but that "squattin" or whatever you want to refer to as looks ridiculous. I've never even heard of that, lol. But like I said to each his own.

That's the funniest thing I've seen in a while.  Dropping the rear of the truck??  The only time I've ever seen a truck looking like that was when they were carrying landscaping blocks or a load of rock or dirt.  But each to his own, I guess.  Only one question though, WHY?  I would say if you're going to lower a 4wd truck, you might as well save your money and get a 2wd for a fraction of the price.

we lower the trucks down here some of us do it just for looks and some like me run dogs and we put are dog boxes in the back and lower the rear end 2" so the dogs can get out of easier and back in to easier

I personally have no problem getting dogs in and out of my Cummins, and it towers over those cute little single cab, short bed z71s. Vinson, I don't believe that you do it because of you run dogs. But, if you think it look's good...go ahead. Nevertheless, both are nice 1st truck's if you like single cab trucks.
I agree with Thumper somewhat.

I've got an idea that's cool.  If you like the idea of the rear tires tucked inside the wheel wells, how about this-  Fit some 38"+ tires under that truck, all the way around, WITHOUT lifting it.  It would take a lot of ingenuity to make it work, but it would be very functional.  You would gain tons of ground clearance, without compromising (as much) the center of gravity.  Gotta love the rock crawler look!  BTW, what kind of dogs are you carrying around?

I would go with the GMC.

As for the squatiung thing I have family all over  FL From Tampa to Orlando down to Miami and I was just in all them areas a few weeks ago and didn't see one truck like that. Maybe it's only up in St Augustinejust looks weird not hatin just different.

4.8's have always got better MPG unless you towing alot then the 5.3 will get better mpg but thats if you tow all the time.

i put my buddys brute force in the back and it wasnt rubbing it was pretty far from it and the truck only has 2" lower drop in the back and 3" of lift up front the front end only sets 2.5"-3' higher then the rear not really a big diffrance

well thats the dumbest thing ive heard in a while... most of the time with a solid rear axle it isnt gonna matter how the frame and body are sitting.. as long as it has the same tires it'll have the same clearance...

way to be unique!!
