ya dont worry about that they all do that when you run them at high speeds or any inclines/hills i just pull the drain on the bottom clean it out and its all good

Was it overfilled when changing oil?
Was it flipped?

Only if the crankcase vent is run into the airbox.
Not sure if it is.  My Recons was but my 300's wasnt.

im guessing u might of over filled it and u went on a good incline for a long period of time and oil went to the back of the motor and into the crankcase vent line which is in the airbox

my rancher had only 3 quarts in it and it appeared in the air box. they hold a little over 3 quarts.

You might overfilled it just a little. The manual says appr 2.6qts.  It says once you fill it with 2, run it for 5 min then check it after it sits for a few minutes.  It should be around the middle. Then add up to the full mark.

I think last time i changed mine i didnt even open the 3rd qt.  I dont think i followed the manuals steps, but im pretty sure it was full.

just for kicks while loading my bike up yesterday i opened my airbox to check everything in it, and i pulled the little sponge out of the crankcase vent hose at the end and it was filled with oil, filled with nasty oil, so i took it out and squeeze the oil all out, then i checked the oil in the bike and it was still good, any suggestions on that? did i just sit on an incline to long trying to get out of a hole and the oil went into the vent line and the sponge stopped it? why would it be really nasty oil also?

dust gets in your airbox and mixes with that oil.  makes it dirty.  but that is what the lil filter is for so don't take it out!
