Hey guys, I went and picked up my dad's and my brush guards today for the 700's. We got the yamaha Super Duty Push/Brush Guard, the one for $220!!! They are so bad - - no creative spelling - - looking on the new grizzly. You basically take off all the front stock and replace it with the brush guard. The nice thing is the brush guard also wrap all the way around on the sides of the fenders so we won't crack or hurt our fenders anymore. The light from the head lights shine right through the rock guards that are on the brush guard in front of the head lights. Also it has light mounting brakets behind the brush guard in front of the radiator to mount piaa lights..... Thought you guys might want to know. Now it's time for rock crawling and pushing trees over.....

I'd like to see a pic from the front and side of the Griz.  I seen it on the Yamaha web site, but it's not on a machine.  Do you have a winch as well....

agentzoey brings up a good question there. some bumbers have an incorporated winch mount or affect the way the winch mounts or is positioned in some way. please include info on that as well snowbrooks. thanks!

Yes, Please post pics. Mine should be in any day at the dealer. My dealer also just got in the pipe and heavy duty brushed alluminum racks. The racks are awesome I just have not found a way to convince my wife that $400 for racks is a neccessary purchase.

Dear Lord Man,

Please post pics!!! My front bumper has been on order for over 3 weeks, got the a-arm gaurds and full skids on, just waiting for bumper to install winch!

I saw that somebody had pictures from the 07 Yamaha dealer show in Vegas that had a pic of a 700 Grizz with "the" bumper....anyone remember where I saw the pics????

The picture you want is over on ATV Riders, page 3 of the 2007 Yamaha dealer show, bottom right, picture #25-080.  Sounds like it will be a great machine. I personally don't like the front end as much as the 660 but the rest of the machine is pretty nice and refined.

Hope you guys enjoy your new toys! Looks like you picked a winner!

READ THIS!!!!! I had the brush guard all installed  and everyhting. But I could not finsih last night, so I tried to finish it up tonight. All I had to do was install the winch back on... BIG PROBLEM... The winch will not fit back on the brush guard with the factory winch mount..... I am going to call my local delaer tommrrow and ask what's up?? DT was right, he was saying something about the winch and mounting brackets. THIS BRUSH GUARD DOES NOT WORK WITH THE WINCH MOUNT THAT THE WINCH COMES WITH... Either they scrtewed it up and did not do it right, or they will have to make a new winch mounting bracket. It ****es me off I spent the time putting it on and found this out. I will give you a update tommrow when I find something out. The dealer said I was the first one they sold one to, so there might be a design problem..... ALSO HOW THE **** DO I POST PICS... I am new to this forum and doing all this... Everytime I tried to post one, it says the size of the pictrure is to big... Please help me so I can put some up..... That's the reason I don't have nay pics, sorry guys..... I will keep you posted....

I did the first winch install and wrote a big review on how the mount the winch and the solinoied on the back of the winch mounting bracket. But I never got to post pics to show people, I would really like to know how... I am glad Sparky installed his winch after my instructions and then he posted some pics for me....

The max file size is 200KB so if your picture is larger than that, it will not load. So you need to either make the picture smaller in size (pixels) or drop the quality a little.

You should have some type of photo software on your pc or you can use MS Paint.

Take a look at the ATV Riders pic from above. It has the winch installed and the different bumper.

I also sent you a PM.

Thanks Topgun, that is icredible, I have been trying to find that exact pic for two weeks, lol

If you guys notice closely in the picture that I was refering to which Topgun found, It shows a winch mounted with the front Yamaha bumper in question.[&o]

Snowbrooks, when you say the winch plate would not fit, I assume the front mounting tabs on new bumper are too close to the rear holes (not enough distance between front and rear tabs) or the mounting plate itself woun't fit?

I tried, but I could not get it to work.  Good Job....  So we see this one has the winch on it, with the skid plates.  Diff mounting plates.  I believe snowbrooks69 needs to have his dealer call Yamaha Tech and find out what the deal is when installing this brush guard.  Does the winch need to be removed to install this guard?

Snowbrook says the lights shine right through the rock guards...looked to me like the headlights are unimpeded and would shine just like they are with the stock bumper.   I like the look of this bumper, and look forward to seeing some pics on a members bike. Please prove me wrong snowbrook, I always think pictures look much better than the professional pubilicty ones.

I agree with goldmemeber, I don't care for the look of the Bison and it is adding another bumper instead of replacing one!
Who needs more weight![:'(]
I think the "ATV Riders" picture of the Yamaha replacement bumper is misleading b/c the picture was taken from the front without a profile view  (there is a grab bar on the bumper that extends out a bit).
I too was also thrown off by the statement that "the lights will still shine through the rock guards"??? I hope the lights are unobstructed! That would be a big time disappointment if my new and improved grizz 700 lights are behind a peice of sheet-metal with some holes in it!!!

You can always spot a Canadian Grizz 700 by the reflectors!!!!    lol

RE: Grizzly 700 Brush Guard is here!!!! 2006/10/06 14:02:10
Just got my Yamaha front bumper replacement for the stock bumper and Snowbrook was right.  The Yamaha/Warn 2.5 winch I got at the time of purchase in the $69 dollar promotion will NOT fit in the new bumper![:@]  The bumper bolted up ok and so I mounted the winch mount next.  After installing the winch mount, I couldn't get the winch to sit far enough back on the mount to line up the bottom holes between the winch and mounting plate because the top of the winch motor hits the upper mounting support bar for the replacement bumper..AAARRGGHHHHH![>:] *Instructions stated to call Dealer for further support. Instructions don't mention winch at all aka "if your are installing this bumper guard and winch, you must order alternate winch mounting plate."  Called Yamaha stealer and they said I must have installed it backwards or upside down!!!![:-]  Called Yamaha Customer Support, transferred to prodct specialist, was told he would have to call me back "in a few days" because he had to send out some emails!!!  The guy wouldn't let me state my problem and said he wanted to get a copy of the instructions first so we could read though them together.....[:o].  Talk about insulted!  He then asked me if " there was a Yamaha Dealer close by???" for a second opinion, I said no because the stealer which sold me the quad stated that I didn't have to have my valves checked at the 20hr service .......Flat out bald face LIE! I then asked what Yamaha recomends and was told by the SERVICE MANAGER that if I adjusted my valves as Yamaha required I would spend over $1000 dollars a year for just that!!!![:'(] Moron!!!!
Looks to me that Yamaha needs to fabricate a mount plate that is recessed lower than the mounting tabs to clear the upper bumper support pipe and winch motor casing, but that would be too easy.[&:]

Anybody got connections with any kind of Yamaha support or District reps????

tarzan, Yes it is the U.S. Yamaha bumper pictured above, note Canadian Yamaha bumper.

I already thought about redrilling the mountings holes, but the winch is sitting on the very front of the plate with no room and still touching the support bar[:(]
