I have a 84' toyota 4X4....trying to fix it up for the mud.  And I got to thinking about these trucks I see with tractor tires on them....and they go very well.  Trucks only got a 4cyc. in it but I'm sure the truck could turn the tires.  The truck will probably never see over 25mph.  Does anyone know what kind of job this would be.  I have 33X10.5X15 swampers on it now.....so will tractor tires fit right on the rim or will I have to buy new wheels and hubs.....???  Any help will be appreciated....Thanks

what size tractor tires are we talking?  Most tractor tires need new wheels, bigger axles, and BIGGER ENGINES before actually working.

Depends on the wheel they need.  Some need regular 16" wheels, some need 16.1"  wheels, etc etc etc

well I'm not plannin on going really big.....just wanna go with the skinny tires like you see on the front of tractors.....they make a tire that will fit a 15 inch rim....do you think I would still need to beef the axles up and bigger engine for this

this is the style of tire I'm talking about......I would think these tires would work alot better in the mud than the thornbirds I have on there now.....plus the tires on the truck have to be replaced anyways and buying a new set of thornbirds would be around $1100 so it would be a lot cheaper going this way....if I don't have to beef things up.......which I don't see why I would.....who knows but wanna know what everybody thinks.......maybe I would be better just getting different tires to take the place of the 33X10.5X15

This is a little better picture of what I'm talking about as far as the tractor tire goes.....

I'm sure there not but......I would think the lugs on the tractor tire when new is gonna be bigger than any street/road tire you can buy.....right....????

Get a 9.5r15 they are 32 or 33 inches tall. Not sure if theyll fit on a wide rim though......

well thats kind-of what I was thinkin'  13  I can easily find some smaller factory 15" rims and they should fit on the rim.....is it me our do y'all think the tractor tires would pull better in the mud without and mods to the motor and engine.....because when I put the truck in 4 low this little truck crawl.....!!

Personally, I would put Boggers on it. That way, you would still be able to drive it down the road if need be. Thornbirds aren't anything but a glorified all terrain tire...they are actually designed to be an all terrain tire. Pretty much any mud tire you go with would be better.

If you want a tractor tire, gear the axles down and run 37" rice and cains. Your not gonna be able to spin them fast, but spinning them fast probably wont help you anyways.

You can get 17" rims(thats the rim size for the tires) and I think all the 6-bolt japa/chinese tractor rims will work.
