You'll need a gear reduction and a whole lot of trimming or a stretch in the rear.

I put a 450 swingarm (which is about a 2" stretch) on my 06 so I could clear 28" Mudbugs.

You won't be able to turn 30's without a gear reduction.  Heavy 27's or light 28's is as big as you can go if you want them to pull in the thick stuff.

Wow a 500 cant pull 30s? Understand not fitting though. Go with some 28s and save yourself all the trouble.

Not if you want to spin them in mud.

I have three Foremans, an 06 and two 09's.  I have 27" Mudbugs on one, 27" Executioners on another, and 28" Mudbugs on the third.  The Executioners are heavy as **** so I have less pull on that bike than the 28" Mudbugs.

You CAN run 30's, but you're going to have a gutless wonder of a bike.  Kinda like running 33's on a Jeep with hwy gears/ 2.73's.   It can be done for looks, but won't perform for crap.

Here's my 06 with the 28's.  Note this one has a stretch or I would have had to trim the crap out of the back of the footwell.  Left front tire is low in the pic.

I love Honda's but that truly is a shame. What about that new Foreman that's supposed to have the lower gearing for mud?

Might get away with it on the newer bikes.  I know they can clear bigger tires without trimming, and top speed is only about 45-50 on the new Rubicons.  Not sure if that's due to lower gears or nanny safety governor on the motor.

I've thought about doing an 18% secondary reduction on one of mine.  1st gear does ok in the thick stuff with 27's and 28's, but I have to stay in 1st if I'm going to spin them in thick stuff.

I have 30x9x14 Silverbacks on my Honda 500. It would do better with a gear reduction but it still does good without it. If i got in some real thick stuff it would be tuff.
