fuel-air mixture screw

just got a dynojet kit, and installed everything as instructed in the kit. no matter how i tweak it, it runs too lean. mainly what i need to know is if tightening the fuel air screw leans it out, or makes it richer. im running a dj170 main jet if that helps. thanks

youll instantly know which one you hit cause the idle screw will put the bike at a high idol or kill it if you go the wrong way to fast just adjust the screw and then ride around and see which way you need to adjust by checking your plug after that

all the way to the right and back it out 2.5 turns, go from there by turning it a quarter turn at a time.

The black knob is the idle adjustment screw.

The pilot screw is a flat-head, it sits in a recessed spot pointing straight up at the front of the carb near the intake boot. - The tighter you go, the leaner it is.

2.5 turns is the stock reference point. Anything over 3.5 does nothing; meaning if you need the screw out that much you need a larger pilot jet.

^^^ indeed... and a word to the wise... DONT START MESSING WITH THE IDLE AND A/F SCREWS IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING! Believe me, you will just mess it up more. I had to learn that lesson the hard way. Get someone to physically show you what to do. Good luck.

thats the idle adjustment, not the a/f screw.
