The CV shafts?  Did you make sure you have the retaining clips off the diff side?  Also, it helps to know what kind of wheeler it is.  And welcome to HL!

should be like any other but im not 100% there is a spring clip on the splines in the diff they are kinda hard to get to unclip. on the cars i work on sometime you have to tap it pretty good with something solid not sure if you can get to it good maybe hope someone else will chime in for more info for you

I had this problem till i pushed the axle in the differential and then yanked on it as hard as i could and it come out. and now all i do is push then pull and it comes off real easy, but i have to push mine in first or it won't come out

Fix it all week just to ride all weekend.

yeah most are supposed to just yank out.. sometimes they dont. if you are going to try and pry do not pry hard or you may crack the diff. housing. just put a little pressure on it while you yank...
if you can manage to get one of them out usually you can put something inside the hole you got out and tap the other one out.

if there is any sort of lip on the inner cup a slide hammer works great!

Pushing in and pulling out gives a slide hammer affect. It might take 2-3 tries but it's never failed me on any model or brand that I've done. I've never been able to just pull one out unless the snap ring was crushed.

Now the next part getting front driveshaft out. Any tips tricks brine is a little different. Because I have warn 424 so it's a split shaft with a spring loaded coupler of that helps

i know it gives the effect but does not supply the same force. it has failed me before.. when i yanked the shaft out of the cup this way. so i HAD to resort to the slide hammer to get the cup out.

forgot to mention holding the axle as straight as possible.. thought that was a given.

X2 on the given part. Removing a 424 is the same as a regular driveshaft except you unbolt the brace that attaches it to frame. Unbolt diff and slide all the way forward and grab the coupler closest to motor and push forward HARD. It helps to grunt. You do realize that the axles could have stayed in if all your doin is wanting to remove front driveshaft.

but i know for doing most of anything involving the diff, it is pretty much way easier to remove the a arms as an assembly instead of taking each thing apart. Its about as quick as removing 1 a arm lol
