best clutch kit for thundercat

Who make s the best kit for the thundercat.  It is for mud and trail riding.  More mud than trails.  Also are there any special tools required.  I am use to can-am and brute clutches and have never worked on arctic cats.

Also who makes the best 2" lift....

Contact Adam Harvey or Pappa slap for clutching info and options.. they are probobly the best when it comes to arctic cat.

My setup is good, but yours will depend on your tires and other mods im sure..
I use 42# wet clutch springs
    4 19g rollers 4 23g rollers
    and secondary clocked to b-3
and i also have adams stage 5+ machine work.
    I run 4 30x11x14 silverbacks.

I have the RDC 2" lift, but i had to heavilly modify it to make it work.. wasnt really happy with that. But the lift is true to 2".
Other then that theres MudTech's and B&J's i believe they are both 2.5" though.

IMO you dont want a true 2" lift on a AC unless your willing to upgrade the axles on it.. MTI builds a nice 1.5" lift for them and with 30s that will put you around 17"/18" depends on the tires real height and shock spring settings.

clutch tuning is going to be up to tires size as much as what terrian your going to ride.

free and cheap is to re-clock the secondary spring to B-3/B-4 and lightin the rollers by drilling them out and adding a shim to the primary sleave to lower the over all gearing onit, lots can be done to it to tweek it to your style of riding.

i will be running outlaws 29.5's.  I am familiar with everything except clocking the secondary???  what is that.  and what do you use for shims..  what rpm engagement will I be looking at with 42# springs. Also what is the weight of the stock rollers and are you just drilling a hole through them to make them lighter. I know its a lot of questions but I am trying to get my arms around this new clutch.   It is nothing like the can-ams at all.

simply clocking the secondary in turn creates a lightening effect of the rollers as it increases the belt pinch & creates more tension that the rollers have to fight against. you can drill rollers to lighten them. i believe the tc has 23 gram rollers. make sure to read the FAQ here in the cat section. lots of good stuff there to keep you busy. i do not like shims as they limit over all speed. i believe in primary machining all the way.

If I say something that you don't like, that you assumed it to be how you interpreted it & you don't ask me to clarify what i meant then heck yeh, I meant it tripled how you took it.

There is a post in the {FAQ} thread about how to re-clock the secondary, basicly you are just twisting it to make it tighter/stiff. you can alos buy after market springs the Red EPI is what i have just more aggressive then re-clocking stock.

I used a 1.2mm machine bushing to shim mine, but for mine it did not work well with a shim but most others seem to be happy with it and it does lower the starting off gear ratio some but also does take off some top speed just depends on what your after. You can do the fixed plate mod to re-gain any lost speed from the shim though.

42s its hard to say they seem to be alittle different on everyones bikes but somewhere around 2,400 rpms is about the highest i seen people say so far, i dont have a tach but dont feel like mine hit that high mine feel closer to 2000rpms..

I think stock are 23 grams and iam not sure on what weight works best for them really. and yes push the steel part out and drill through it and re-install.
