Yamaha billet middle gear support

I have yet to find out who makes the billet support for the middle drive gear on these rhino motors.... Im looking into tearing mine apart and if I have to split the cases I am going to beef it up in every way possible!! Where do these rhino guys the bearing support? Is there more than one company that makes them?

If they make it for a Rhino...odds are UTVCrap has it.

I have not seen many folks mess with the center support on the 700s...its not a big breakage issue as I understand it. But if you want one Weller Racing has one for the 700  http://www.wellerracing.com/

You may go over to Rhinoforums.net when you want to read about the performance stuff...etc...lots more threads over there by engine builders..etc.

Just so you know the 700 has a little stronger support stock than the 660 however, as I understand it Yamaha "engineered" the thru shaft a bit smaller so it would break instead of the support...this is not all that bad cause its only like a $50 part that can be changed with the engine in the machine and does not take out $1500 worth of parts like when the support breaks.

However it will leave you stranded when it breaks.

Weller Racing also builds a stronger thru shaft, so with that said if your going to do one..do them both IMO.

yep i found out weller racing makes a bigger billet support for the 700. if I tear it apart id leave the stock shaft.... theres no way id drop $420 on a "just in case" since it can be replaced in the bike. Id be more worried about the parts that take out the cases. Their 700 bearing support is $250 so it might be time to goto the drawing board and machine my own.

I wonder if thats what broke on mine. It wont move at all. Im thinking the middle drive gear. If you have it turned off it wont engage in park or any gear , but if its running it will engauge just makes a popping and shakes the motor.

is the bearing support what causes this to break? I had a friend that broke his middle gear last year and cracked the cases. I believe mines cracked too, because its leaking oil out the bottom pretty good.

So the gear is strong enough, its just the support that causes this problem?

When I broke the internal output shaft on my Rhino,  I tried and tried to get the broke part of shaft out with no luck.  It broke right at the splines where it goes in middle gear, so i had to still tear down motor.  Glad I did, my middle gear suppor twas loose.  Not like fixing to fall off loose, but not tight either.  PLUS, when the shaft broke, I guess the torque back feed through the middle gear support and cracked my case.  Where one of the 4 bolts holds the support to case, its a hairline crack.  Still rolling the cracked case, but will loose about 1/2 qt oil in a full day riding.  Won't loose any when cold.

    I own nothing.

i got my middle drive support from G2X it was for a 660 & was 150. Believe me it isnt cheap when this breaks in a 660 i have well over 1500 in mine. I bought a used grizzly motor upgraded the middle drive support & installed the 686 kit with web cam.

2009 Polaris RZR S suspension with 6" lift brackets, 30"S/W Backs, custom stereo,& a few other mods.

I haven't personally seen the middle gear support in a 700 break, but have seen alot of the internal output shaft snap, including the two I've broke.

Honestly sounds like that happend unfortunately but like redden said ive really only heard of the shaft breaking thats why MANY companies make hardened shafts to replace the stockers. Only one company i found make a new support for the 700s so I guess that tells ya the stock is strong. Maybe you were less fortunate and when the shaft snapped something got in a bind..... If its leaking oil theres no doubt it broke the case SOMEWHERE but it might just be cosmetics on the outside that can be welded but if anything internal is broke off then its $580 for a new case set!! lol

I dont care about the cost since warrenty is covering it. It will have new cases on it. I would like to know where you found that support and shaft at tho?

They told me they have alot of rhinos that this happens to, but only one other grizzly besides mine. I have 3 friends with grizzlys that have broke theirs in 3 years. 3 seperate bikes. But they all had 31s and 32s on them.

When he tears it down and figures out what parts to order that gives me 3 days to get him the support and shaft.
