Tracks vs Tires ??? Worth it ????

Man ,,,I've seen some clips on atv's with tracks on them and they seem to go through a lot of stuff ,,,Better then Big Ol Tires....Just kind of wondering if any of you Guy's had any experience with the track set up...Will they climb better and really go through more mud ?????

The one thing is that tracks do sink in liquid, so they will go down in mud, and when they do they're horrible to get out

I went to You Tube and punched in " ATV's on Tracks " And watched some of the clips....They do seem to shine better in deep snow and also saw um go where a 4x4 quad would'nt....I'm looking at riding down and through and up some pretty big county ditchs and thought this set up might just be the ticket....I've got a 08 800 sporty so I know she got the nads to pull um..
Would they be better then a 6 '' lift ???????????

One thing about tracks is that if you run them in ruts then the tracks will run off of their pully things if ya know what i mean.

And they SUCK for trying to climb over fallen trees. The tree will get stuck between the front and rear track not allowing you to get over it.

i dont like them, i have only seen a few wheelers with them but the ones that i have seen havent done to well in the mud. the tracks clogged with mud on one that i saw, and caused some thing to mess up. i have been told and seen them eat tie rods. then there was a wheeler at mud nationals that broke in the buddy run, and then threw a track in the mud bog.

these are just things that i have personal experience with, and are the reasons why i dont like tracks

All the guys have the all the points nailed.
The tracks are pretty much a snow only item. Other than that, they will not do anything that a quad with good mud tires and lift will do.
And when it comes to rocks, don't even bother. All your gonna do is break something. Maybe even yourself. I have used them in the snow beforeand found them to be pretty unstoppable. 6 months later I was got a loan of this Tracked SP 500 again. Except this time it was in the the summer. I hated it. Hard as **** to stear. Worn me out before the ride even really got going.
Then during some rockcrawling, I couldn't navigate. They would just jam up.
If you want to make your atv great in snow, not just good, Then they are the ticket. But anything else, don't bother.
