Tire size for a 96' 300 Fourtrax 4x4?

Hey guys, I've got a stock 300 fourtrax 4x4.. What size of tires could you run bigger than the stock ones, on the stock wheels. I don't really want to lose too much power from them. The tires I would be getting would be ITP mud lites. Like I said, i'd like a little bigger tire, what would you guys recommend. Thanks in advance!

I have the same wheeler thats all stock too . I just ordered 25x10x11 rear and 25x9x11 front . I still have yet to try them out but i recently posted the same thing your asking and was recommended to go with 26's.

I would say 26's, not to small & not to big. But, don't expect much mud performance from the "mud lites" (IMO, they are the tire that should have been named PIECES OF **** lol. They certainly aren't good in the mud) But they are good for trail riding though!

if you get the Lites make sure you get the XL's of course.  26x10/12 should be fine.

i have 26'' mudlites on my 98 and they do fine. as long as you dont strictly mud ride. they are easier on the drivetrain too.

i had the xxl's (27") on my old 300 and they did ok in the mud... they don't perform like an outlaw but a heck of a lot better than many others. if you don't want many mechanical problems in the future lites would be a good choice.

Eh, not going to be doing very much mudding. This is for trail riding, mostly on the Hatfield Mccoy trail. I live in E. KY across the river from Williamson, WV., which is where part of H-M trail system is. I want a tire that will climb better than the stockers or stock sized tires, and will give it a more aggressive look.

26x9.5x11 Vamps for the front, 25x12x11 Vamps for the rear. Vamps climb like no other plus they ride pretty well to be considered a mud tire. Vamps are fairly cheap and will outlast any other tire in it's category. JMO. Another good tire would be 25" Kenda Executioners. These tires climb pretty well and will probably last longer than the bike will. Yeah you read that correctly! They are pretty cheap too. Only downfall would be the weight and they run short.

Realistic goals only bring average rewards. Do something extraordinary; I sure am.
