I thought the 700's only go like 76-78. Are they really that close in top speed? (I know the 700's handling blows the 660's away)

If you can pull a 660 raptor out of a crate and run 80 mph, i'll give ya 100$.   With a few gearing changes, most bike can be made to run 80+ straight out of the box on a long stretch.

My stock 06 yfz ran 75mph straight out of the box.  14/38 gearing.  With 15/37 gearing, it ran 83mph, still stock.  But as you can tell, it wasn't entirely "STOCK" anymore.

The 700 raptors are the same way.  75-76 mph, "STOCK"

Anybody taht thinks that a completely stock raptor 660, or 700 for that matter will run better than 80 mph, bring the bike to Timpson Texas and collect your 100 bucks.

Never new for a fact,Just heard talk about it from other people. Have no idea how fast mine will go and don't plan on finding out. I do love the pull it has but once I hit 5th I usually shut it down, and thats only if i'm sure the trail i'm on in deserted and in an open space.

probably not nearly as much as you are thinking that it will

It will all depend on the pipe, and what kind of air intake system you run, not just a k&N filter attached to the carbs in the stock air box...this isn't going to hardly get your any more air flow, more dirt maybe, but not more air flow

i dont mind adding that i'm the same way...i like the 0 to 20 mph  speed, not the top end...  gotta be crazy to go 70 mph on a bike anywhere ive been ridin[;)]

well a clutch is not going to do anything as far as top end or anykind of speed for that matter if its not slipping the dont mess with it maybe put stiffer springs on it to make it last longer but thats all
