Ruesch Panther 1000

I got a chance to see it when I was in Vegas this past weekend.  This beast is frickin Bad !@#.  The guy driving it was a local dealer and they were test driving it and showing it off to some new dealers.  I saw it take off from a dead stop and nearly lift the front end off the ground.  He then went into doing donuts on the concrete and then straigtened it out and went flying across the lot and shut it down.  Man that thing was fricken awesome.  I know it'll smoke my RZR and probably even my Outty 800.

I got a chance to talk to the owner and he even let me take pics.  The engine is made in Sweeden and is called a Highland and its actually a 950cc.  Its got true dual exhaust, EFI, and has a direct drive tranny no CVT.  It also has a 5 speed manual, but he said will eventually have an automatic.  The suspension was a set of FOX shocks x4, w/a 9" over extended a-arms.  This gave it stock 15" of GC on 25" mudlites.  The role cage and all its parts are an exact match to the Rhino d/t all the access. available for it.

He had some other models out there as well and they actually looked like the Rhino, so immediately I thought this was just another co. making Rhino knock offs (China Junk).  He told me that as of June all those bodies are going away and that all new bodies will have the Panther plastics or as he said the "prerunner body style".  He then said that they will also have on them, stock a 4" over extended a-arms w/a 600 cc power plant and clutch kit all stock from the factory for <$10K.

He said that they are working on larger big bore engines even larger than the 950.  He then said that with in the next yr, all models will have stamped made in the good ol USA.  He said that rite now the 600cc is out of Minnasota (don't know if thats where they r imported to or what) and that the things like the Chassis and the role cage, plastics and other small items r made in China.   I did get a good look at the welds and craftsmenship and its everybit as good as my RZR and perhaps better.  He also said that all the diffs come from Japan,  the suspensions, wiring harnesses, seats, and 4 pt harness all come from the US and the engine at least in the Panther comes from Europe-Sweeden.

I think this co is on to something here, we'll see and only time will tell.  Anyone want to buy a RZR and a Outty.
Here a few pics I got.

    Jfree,

Did you just happen to be in Vegas or are you a dealer?  I have been checking these things out for a while and they had invited me to come to that dealer training for a demo,  (I am not a dealer).   A local bike shop is considering the franchise and he too is very excited about them.  It will be very interesting when they hit the dirt!!

I , like you was invited out as well to see em and to consider being a dealer.  I have sent all my paper work in and am going to be the dealer for Shreveport, La.  Those things are as wild in person as they are on the video.

About the width, you can get that exact same setup in a 4" over extended a-arm configuration and its then only 60" wide.  The same as a Ranger/Prowler.

I talked to them about rainsing the GC to about 20" stock by building a shock tower and a few other things but d/t safety reasons they will not take it any taller.  However, once you buy it, you can do what you want to it.  As soon as I get my demo unit its going up as tall as can and still be safe.

After seeing it in person, and looking at the quality of build i think you could put a set of 31's/32's on it with out any mods and this is their (Ruesch's) philoshy, "Race ready right out of the box".  Why pay for a $10K machine i.e. RZR and take it and have another $10K in aftermarket accessories added to it.  Just buy it from the factory like that.

WE ARE A DEALER HERE IN CANADA, YOU ORDER THEM AS A 55HP MODEL AND YOUR CHOICE WITH A PLUS 3 RHINO SHOCKE OR THE PLUS 6 WITH FOX (ACTUALLY A PLUS EIGHT WITH THE WHEELS THEY USE) BUT YOU CAN FLASH THE ECM FOR 85HP BUT IT VOIDS THE WARRENTY.  IF YOU WANT THE 115HP MODEL IT COMES WITH NO WARRENTY BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BEYWEEN THE 55-85HP MODEL TO THE 115HP, WE'LL BE GETTING THEM IN MAY!

Yellow fellow, Ruesch never mentioned anything about it voiding the warranty if you flash the engine.  In fact we discussed the warranty in great detail.  I spoke w/Steve who is the dealer in Tulso OK. just 2 days ago and he had just left the Highland factory.  He says that the full production models won't be ready until mid to late summer.

My local dealer told me the same thing about flashing the computer to 85hp and voiding the warranty,  although I had spoken with Kevin at Ruesch for quite a while and he never mentioned it to me either.

I just got an update on the Ruesch Panther.  There has been several developements since I last posted.  All this information I am telling you is available on the Ruesch web site.

The Panther is now going to be known as the Panther85 and Panther Alpha Male.  The Panther 85 is going to use the Weber motor with an 85 hp to the crank motor and a Team Ind. CVT tranny.  The Panther Alpha Male gets a turbo charger right out of the box which will make an astonishing 155hp.  This new engine will have a 1 yr warranty on the engine. All the rest of the line up remains close to the same as previously posted except for a few more tweaks to the entry level model (600cc engine) making it even more competitive, no more info is available at this time.

The new Panthers should be available w/in the next 45-60 days.  If some of this information sounds familiers it should, the Polaris jet ski's and snow mobiles run this engine configuration which is going to make parts availability very good with all the Polaris dealers out there and the Ruesch dealers coming on board.  I know I can't wait to get my hands on one of these beast.  I'll be taking pre-orders if anyone else wants one or two. Just PM me.

The Panther 1000 was a Highland 1000cc engine and had a 5 speed tranny.  The problem was that Highland could not meet the demands that Ruesch was asking from them.

Be CAREFUL with this because there is a Chinese knock off brand called rEUsch already that isn't very good.  They are very easily confused with the real company.  The one he's talking about is rUEsch and from all the reviews I have been reading, they are going to be a legit company ready to compete for buisness.
