Read The Rules
Welcome to the High Lifter Forum! Thanks to interested users like you we’re proud to say that this forum has become the biggest and most popular ATV related forum on the web with more than 26,000 users (and counting) to date.
Our goal is to continue making this the safest, best, and most enjoyable forum on the web but we need your help to make it happen! In an effort to achieve this goal we’ve provided a few rules and guidelines for how best to make use of this forum while treating it and its users with the respect they deserve. Unfortunately, anyone who can't follow these rules may be banned from joining the conversation in the future so be sure that you review them and become familiar with them as soon as possible!
Prohibited Postings Personal Information
Any posting of personal identifying information (phone numbers, addresses, etc) is prohibited and will be automatically removed. Inappropriate or Offensive Posts
Any posting containing material deemed inappropriate or offensive by our moderators is also prohibited and will be automatically removed. This includes any messages or material that is ethnically, racially, religiously or sexually offensive, insulting or demeaning. It also includes messages that are harassing or threatening to others or are otherwise related to any other type of illegal activity. In other words, if you wouldn't like it said about you, don't say it about others. We don't want to be censors, but non-constructive negative comments about others (including our competitors) are inappropriate and can severely degrade the quality of this forum and our users’ enjoyment of it.
Additionally any "nonsense" posts, those that do not invite discussion, or those that do not relate to or further the current topic may be deleted or may be moved to a more appropriately relateable area within the forum. NOTE:
Attempts to raise your post count by making multiple "nonsense" posts is frowned upon and will likely draw the attention of our Moderators and may lead to reprimand. Advertisement, Solicitation, or Promotional Material
This forum is for social interaction and the discussion of High Lifter related events, products, or any fun and safe ATV related activity, however it is not intended for advertisement, solicitation, or promotion of anything of a 3rd party commercial nature. Any advertisements, solicitations or promotional materials of a commercial nature are prohibited and will be immediately removed. Attempts to make business related sales or draw potential customers to your business through our forum will lead to your account being banned.
User Interaction & Forum Etiquette Account Creation Rules
We only allow one forum account per user and therefore if a user is found to have more than one account often the user is asked to choose which one he/she would like to keep and the other(s) are deleted. Also, new account names are reviewed on a regular basis to verify that they fall within accepted parameters and if not then the user in question is asked to choose an alternate and more appropriate Login Name.
Some reasons a login name may be deemed inappropriate:
Signature Size & Content
- Having significantly sexual, racial, religious or political implications/connotations that would likely be offensive to some, and inconsistent with the premise of a family friendly forum, focused on ATV/RUV interaction.
- A name which has as its focus the display of a product name that is a competitor of High Lifter. Acceptable examples of such use in a name would be WarnedGriz, since we don’t make winches or compete with Warn, Chevyman, etc. However, if an employee of Warn used it then it would be deemed unacceptable as an advertisement of their business or product and an obvious attempt to profit from the use of this forum.
- Any name which includes or identifies the poster as a commercial enterprise and in particular ATV industry enterprises.
The size of some members TEXT in their signature has become too large and takes up to much space on forum posts. To be fair to everyone, the size of text in all member signatures will now be restricted to no larger than size "3
". There will be no exceptions to this rule and those that are not in compliance, or have other inappropriate signature content, will have their signatures changed for them. Moderator Respect
Moderators are normal forum users just like you that were chosen to be a Moderator based on their forum activity, adherence to forum rules and guidelines, friendliness, and helpfulness to other forum users. They don't get paid for their services or dedication to helping the forum run smoothly. We can't thank these guys enough for all that they do and they deserve your respect as well. Arguing with or making derogatory statements about Moderators in the forum through public posts is not tolerated. All posts of this nature will be deleted and depending on the severity of the infraction the user may be reprimanded and lose temporary or permanent use of his/her forum account. Please Note:
If you would like to discuss the action(s) of Moderators, you are advised to contact any Moderator(s) or Admin(s) via Private Message or Email through the forum. Inappropriate Content
In addition to the inappropriate post material listed above, there are several other forms of content (language, pictures, politics, etc.) we feel are inappropriate or not conducive to open communication or calm debate within the forum.
Upon finding content we feel is inappropriate in a post, Moderator's will usually take action in the form of editing out the offensive content or if necessary deleting the post and submit a warning to the user who made the post.
We would like to ensure that the forum is a place that can be enjoyed by ATV enthusiasts of all ages and therefore we try to keep the forum environment as user friendly as possible. In this endeavor, we have filters in place designed to inhibit the use of words we feel are not appropriate for younger eyes or could be viewed as offensive or in some cases to discourage discussion of a particular topic (usually upon user request and normally under special circumstances).
Repeated forum rules infractions and/or attempts to circumvent the filter or any forum rules for that matter will result in temporary or permanent loss of account access.
