Hey we need to talk about those rattle can skills you got!!!! I'm gonna get you some masking tape!!! Man in all seriousness you got a good project going. Motor can get costly unless you do everything yourself. High compression piston, bigger bore and maybe a cam. The way I look at is why spend money on the motor if it isn't smoking. Same your money and get your gear reduction.

lmao. Ik man oversprays a b$$$h lol I'm getting new plastics bc they are not red anymore they faded to pink Or I thought about doing spray Berliner all black. Idk. Anyways I'm for sure saving for the gr first but I just figured maybe later I would but this bikes been taken good care of Atleast till I got it lol I got water in the motor twice before I realized my crankcase vent had came out of my air box but I flushed the motor out good both times and she doesn't smoke. It turns the silverbacks surprisingly good in water but think mud it Boggs bad. Have to always run in 1st gear mudding. I'm thinking about going ahead and starting on my axle paddle maybe tm evening. Thanks for fixing my pics btw. And hey one more thing. This won't be anytime soon but I kinda want to make a big lift like 6-8" and stretch it I wanted to do this to my old 300 but my **** sold it. I have never built a big lift though just 2-3" bolt ons so I'm wondering how bad of a job will it be for me to tackle that

If you can cut and weld your golden. Buy your 6+ or 8+ axles first and build around them. You want around a 37 degree angle on the cv axle bar. Axles cost!!! Buy you a pipe bender from harbor freight if you don't have one already. Get you some heim joints and fab away. You will need to make a jig to hold the hub's on the axles so you can measure, cut and square everything up as you build your lift.

well I can cut good. I can weld just not great but that's all good bc my bro is an expert welder Anyhow 2 things. First for the time being till I could afford to buy extended length axles could I just sleeve my stock axle shafts And what is the steepest angle my rear shaft can be at without putting the joint in a bind. Like how much stretch do I have to go with the 6 or 8" Also if I do this project I'm gonna take all my parts when done and sandblast them and powder coat them. Sorry about all my questions but also who all makes gr James Clark told me $500 for a 39% with my parts.

Is it just me or have the forums become way dryer compared to what they were a couple years ago. Yeah forums have slowed way way down.

As far as motor work I wouldn't do anymore than .20 bore and a cam along with GR and all the little stuff. Unless you are James Clark and can just build everything right there in your shop or can afford to dump thousands into it just to burn the money then it won't be worth it. You'll be more than happy with a GR. Having a ticking time bomb with a giant piston in it is just asking for another rebuild.

Look down the center of the black part that holds the needle. You will see a cross for a Philip screw driver. Turn to the left about a quarter to half turn. Use the needle to push up and the cross piece will come out. Make sure you pay attention if they are any small washers under the needle.

Justin seeing this lol I figured it out but I had already been turning the screw head and I pulled the black piece out with a pair of needle nose pliers only thing Is I hope I didn't mess up bc I just slid the black piece back down in place and didn't think to turn the screw head back and now the carb is back together and on my bike. Will this hurt anything? It runs fine

I also put my new sixity cv's in. They seem to be pretty good quality and have 2 year warranty and we're pretty cheap. My epi comp stall clutch kit came in too but I did not have time to do that tonight. Question. Do I have to pull my clutch basket to put the springs in or can I do it with it still on the motor. Maybe even stand it up on the back rack if I have to

Yes on the carb. It needs to be turned and locked in place. Yes on the clutches. You need to pull them.

You can do it in the motor. Just be ready to say every cuss word in the book!! I think the best tool I found to work is a Phillips screw driver. Hook one end. Put the screw driver or sturdy pick in and pry up or down and let it hook into place. Some say a 90 degree set of needle nose works best

Look online and find you a free PDF manual for your bike. That will help keep you from going back in to something that you already worked on.

Guys I been working on these clutch springs and only have 2 in in 2 hours. My problem isn't stretching them to the next hole it's starting them at the first one what can make this easier
