Man guys, thanks for the replies!! I'm now pretty dead set on a can am. But, if I get a can am then I want the 800 xmr. If funds don't work out like I think they will I will break down and go with a King Quad 750. I wish they had more power but seem to be a real good machine. What do you think?

If you can't afford a XMR you would go with a 750KQ???? Why not just drop down to a 650 Can Am and then later down the road just drop a 840 kit in it for not much money...

Ok I'll check them out. And to anwser the other question. If I'm not getting the biggest stock HP I can then I wouldn't even be looking at Can Am. I like suzuki 4x4's, I have been around several of them and other then being under power, they have done very well for my grandpa and a couple others that I know that ride them. The things that I do not like about can am is, it seems that just about every screw and bolt has a nut on the other end, and I find it a pain in the **** to always have to have a wrench, socket or srew driver on the other end. 2nd is were there steering rod hooks to the hub. You can not put wider tires on it with out differant wheels or a spacer, for example, try putting bigger tires on the stock wheels. They will rub on the tie rod nuckle. 3rd is the diff lock, I do not like how they engage and disengaged, I want to push a botton to lock all 4 tires in and have it stay that way at all times until I decide to push the botton again to disengage them.
Other then those complants I love the Can Am's.

Like i said not bashing on the brute they are a strong bike but they just have more problems than the can am's do BRP has done thier homework and they are very quick to fix any issues they find  the can am is worth the extra cash i would not own anything else and i dont see any1 beating them for a very long time

So what are you guys doing when going to bigger tires? Are you going with offset wheels or wheel spacers?

I understand the frustrations with a nylock nut on every bolt.....but on the other hand, I like that I dont have to worry about them vibrating loose!

Wow, I just read the whole thread
so you went from a brute vs can am to Im getting an xmr to forget it Ill just get a zuki?
Let me lay my .02 ranking in there
Can am 800
Brute 750i
Polaris 850
Yamaha grizzly 700
then zuki
I think you missed a few steps there and I definantly am not a polaris fan
that doesnt mean they arent great machines, but the ones I was around 4-5 years ago were junk and I dont have much to compare them too as far as recent models
and lets just run down this road for a second, the back up bolt thing is super minor, especially since you wont be wrenching on it as much as a brute

i've had a few brutes, and to me they are just as good as a can am.....i don't want to **** off any outty fellas BUT dollar for dollar i think they are about the same.  it all depends how much you wana spend.  a new brute in oklahoma is 6200otd and outty is 8500otd(maybe).  the $2300 difference is in my opinion technology and quality.  BUT for $2300 you can trick the **** out of a brute and have a good mud machine, there will be a few minor complications later down the road but they can easily be fixed or an extended warranty will fix it right up.  that being said, i just had to have an outty xxc, to me...well worth it.  i will one day buy another brute and it will LIVE EAT and BREATH the blackland clay in NE TX.

The only reason I was thinking a brute over the suzuki was becasuse it is a V-Twin. I thought that maybe the power would be close, but it donesn't sound like it. And it does not have power steering, which I want. So in that case I will get the suzuki 750. But only if I feel that there is no way I can afford the can am xmr. In the long run it would be cheeper to get the xmr now rather the KQ750 and mod it to be similar. But I dout the power will ever be close to that of the can am.

Just my 2 cents - its a joke to compate a brute to  canned HAM.
The Ham will beat it in every respect everytime all the time .
One of the funny things is how a Brute will wheelie easy and that seems to make ot strong ohh weeee and yeah them it dumps you on your **** on a steep hill the can am  just hikes  with not a single lift of any front tire .
Just dont bother with me i am seriously biased .
The Can Am's  blows all the other bikes away PERIOD
As far at utes ate concerned and they are beggining to make a good showing in the sport quad area - we will see .

If you do just a little shopping and research...you can find left over Outlanders...like 09's and such for a quit a bit cheaper than a Brute. IMO...I have owned Brutes but not Can-Am's. All my teammates and friends have them. They are a much better made bike that and a Brute. I also work as  Kawasaki and Suzuki dealer part time in the parts & service department. The Brutes have a lot of small issues that Kawie just refuses to fix or acknowledge. The outlanders have their own small issues as well...just not as many IMO. My next bike will be an Outlander...A new Brute is $like $8299 MSRP I think...You can get a Outlander for less at the dealers around here. There is a dealer in Virgina...I will see if I can find the link....they have some left over 09 800R XT's for $7499. They were all Black I think.

My brute is awsome. Off the line it will lift the front tires like a funny car and smoke my buddys gade, but before my front tires are coming down he is pasted me. Me with 27s him stock. I need the racks for the way I ride and don't like how the outty looks. I also hate EFI. Jmo

Just buy a TCAT and be done with it. You can put up to 31s on it with no lift. Most stock ground clearance of any bike sold. Awesome power. And stock for stock on dry ground will out run a canam on the top end. Diff lock at the push of a button.

HA ha Jason I have not even rode with you for you to race me! That's funny the last time we rode I remember dragging your po po 800 up and down the cumberland mountains with my 650i brute! AND you know I put my broke force to the test every ride so I earned my nick name. IT wasn't just given to me cause I break down every now and then. YOU have to earn your Nick name! HA ha. I have never rode a can am so I am not knocking one what's so ever! If you ride hard you are just going to have to pay the repair bills on all of them. That's all I gotta say!

Ya Can am really has got the market buy the balls when you look at there HP #'s and watch them spanke everything in there class. It says quite a bit when a 650 can bet a 750 in a race. Can am has awsome motors, that's for sure.
