    will a fourtrax 300 2wd rear end work for a 4x4 300 fourtrax?

Yes it will, but why bother as it will break, and wear out just as easily as the one you're replacing...Step up to an 00,or newer Foreman 400,450,500 rear diff, axle,n brakes,n be done with it....

^^ Considering all the options you listed would not work due to the gear ratios being way to far apart to work and the fact it would take a custom built swing arm along with some serious work, yes, some will find it amusing.
