Or if you feel adventurous you can try to shave a couple of grams out of the rollers. I think it can be done but better have a digital scale in hand.

Well I called the local dealer tonight and they said that there is 8 rollers in there,to take out everyother one. They said all it will really do is cause that pully to spine faster for a little better gearing but I wont notice much power increase. They also said they do not reconmend only having 4 rollers in it that I should have all 8.They said they sell lighter rollers for $50 bucks. If I dont have to spend anything Idont want to but I also dont want to hurt the bike by taking rollers out. What do you guys think ?

Get the smaller rollers and see if it helps you out. Probably it will since it could make better use of the engine.

I hate about the small Polaris quads is that they take a lot of RPMs to get them moving. My son has a Phoenix 200 and you have to rev it up a bit higher than normal to make them move.

The 300/400 were built on the mid sized hawkeye chassis.  No lo gearing, air cooled 300, liquid cooled 400 (455cc.)

i dont know about the 300 but the 400ho has a built in low range that works up till about 8mph...makes it sluggish off the line but you have lots of low grunt.....you could get a better flowing air filter.....find an after market pipe for a similar sized quad and make it fit...then jet it....that will give you a bit more pep......i would also get a scale and take about 10-20% of the weight off the rollers......i would do that part 5% at a time....dont want to take off to much all at ones or you will lose too much top end speed.....i know taking out 4 rollers drops the top speeds into the 30s

The clutch set up in the Hawkeye 300s, 08-10 Sportsman 400 is kind of the same as the clutch setup in the Yamahas and Suzukis. The tuning flexibility is far less than the standard Polaris P-90 clutch setup that uses fly weights, helix. The Hawkeyes use roller weights and with that it only gives you the option of changing weight amount. Where as a standard Polaris P-90, you can change the flyweight curvature, weight amount, and profile. This gives you tons of clutch tuning options. Finding clutch options for the Hawkeye is gonna be very limited. I think EPI has some roller weights and maybe even some springs.

    Current Rides:
12 Sportsman 800efi 26" Big Horns on ss316. Clutch: 70 gram EPI Torquer weights, Dalton primary spring, Team 3 secondary 66-56, Team orange sec. spring
09 RZR  26" Bajacross on SS312, DMC dual exhaust and too much to list.
10 CanAm Renegade 800r  Muzzy pipe, 25" Grim Reapers, Precision steering stabilizer w/ shock n vibe risers. Elkas

    nearing retirement: 06 Sportsman 500efi

I may add lighter tires, and ajust the rollers.I am really looking for a bigger 4x4 ATV so I dont have to orry about it.Also the Polaris's parts are very expensive.I may run the bike this summer and put it up for sale.Gotta see how work is going first though.
