why is everyone soo concerned about weight?, like if it weighs lighter, ussualy means its cheaply made or thin, like your buying a big mud tire, most likely your bike being modded to turn to the tires soo why is weight such an issue?

In addition to tire height altering the gearing, weight plays a heavy role in robbing power.
    You only got so much.

good post ronnie. i didn't know the 31 wides were a full 10 lbs. heaver than the 31 skinnies. aren't the 32 backs 53 lbs.?

If I say something that you don't like, that you assumed it to be how you interpreted it & you don't ask me to clarify what i meant then heck yeh, I meant it tripled how you took it.

logan t....my 28x10x12 Silverbacks weighed almost 34lbs. each.....I think it was like 33lbs and 12oz. Haven't weighted any 28x9.5 Laws....but on the same scale the 29.5x10x12 weighed a few ounces shy of 39lbs. That was on my scale at work. Both Outlaws and Sillverbacks are great tires.....the Outlaws do wear better IMO.

Anyone know the true height of these tires? I've heard that they are way off their true size and would be curious to compare true weight to size.

not sure about the weigth difference but wide 29''.5 laws turn as easy if not easier than skiny 30'' backs, and they ride soooooooo mutch better than almost all deep lug tires. as far as mst's go sorry hl,but they are the roughest ride'n tire i've rolled on. i can't figure it out why but they do, i would rather ride any big agressive tire than the mst.

UPDATE: Over the last few months I weighed the 32 Backs again a number of times. The average weight was 53.30 lbs. So I think It's safe to assume that's their true weight. The reason I did this was because a few folks still seem to think they weigh under 50 lbs.

need help. ok im about to but me a new atv but im stuck with if i should buy the new outlander 1000 are honda 420. now i know the outlander wont have any problem turning 31 inch outlaws but a buddy got the 800 and does great in the mud with 31s but that thing can smoke a belt fast love the power but never have been a fan of belt drives of any kind. so i was leaning to the 420 and was thinking about a gear reduction-powercommander-hmf-snorkels-with 31s but with all that is it still not going to be strong enough to turn the 31s are should i just take the leap and buy the 1000 and not have to worry about a gear reduction just the belt.
