has anyone found a stock replacement exhaust seal for a 2003 700? the polaris # is 3610047, but i don't really feel like paying $15 unless i really have to.

More stuff, SP500 with the hubs that lock. Front wheel bearings that go inside hub & strut. Timken L44649 & L44643 can be bought at napa or any parts store. I measured the oil seals and call a local bearing supply store. They wanted more for the seals than polaris did.

Has anyone found an alternative to the factory Hall effect sensor for the speedometer?

just got through "upgrading" to the super duty tie rod ends mentioned in an earlier post....first thing is the tie rod ends have gone up....they are more expensive than the polaris oem parts....but I said what the heck they are tougher.When you order the ends from MSC use the phone....there is no way in their online ordering platform to ask for the left hand thread ends....they also don't keep the left hand thread ends in stock....that only took about 3 days but the bad thing is they shipped them seperatly from the right hand threads...and that doubled the shipping/handling charge....

The bushings mentioned are a little smaller than the polaris bolts....but a round file and the wire brush on the bolts made em fit.

Next thing I found was that the after market ends are longer..even when you take all the adjustment out....I had to cut a little off both ends of the actual tie rod to get it down to the right length.I cut the rod on the outer end off the width of the locking nut...the inner end I cut off twice the width of the locking nut.

After all this I found that the innner ends were too big to fit side by side in the steering knuckle on the post....they are also much thinner....I had to "stagger" them...After 2-3 hours "test fitting" heres what worked for me I got 8 3/8 inch lock washers...put one in a vice then take an adjustable wrench and bend it flat....you could use regular 3/8 washers but they were thinner and had a larger outside diameter that could cause problems.To stagger them I put 3 washers on bottom of the inner tie rod end and one on top....for the other inner end I put 1 washer on bottom and 3 on top.....a real pain but thats what it took on my machine....a 2002 500 HO.

Folks....I spent several hours on this....it's not a bolt on exact fit job....and its more expensive than polaris parts....One thing I can say is the front end feels better than when it was new....all the steering slop is gone....I just hope its stays that way with all this effort.....

Awesome thread very helpful how would i cross the rear diff bearings into something like federal mogul ...anyone have any numbers for a rear 04 700 diff???

mwbmod Take one of the ring gear bearings and the pinion bearing down to Houston Bearing. I see that you live in Houston and I'm from Baytown. I took my bearings down there and they matched them. cost me like 45 dollars for all three bearings.

Does anyone have the aftermarket bearing part numbers on the rear differential for an 02 700? LA Mudds is SHOT!

Are ya'll really breaking the stock tie rod ends? my 2000 sp500 has heim joints on both ends, as does my 2000 6x6.

How about bearings for the front axle carrier on a 2000 sp500 6x6?? I am betting they are timken but dont have it apart yet to see.

Do not rebuild your front housing if it is going to cost you more than $200 in parts....which it probably will. I was going to replace the plastic roll cage, the seals, the bearings, and that alone was going to run me up around $600U.S., I was givin a tip to go to the Ridge Runners of Idaho web site, they sell the complete front housing brand new for $250. You can not beat that price anywhere. This is a link to their actual parts page for Polaris....

The Frontier post said that the 338 is for the front and the 1501 is for the rears.

I used the Federal Mogul #510013 (cross ref FW143) sealed bearings made in the USA with a Lifetime Warranty form Murray's Auto parts for $21.99 each
(2 required total).
Most auto stores will price match.
They are available on eBay for $29 +S&H.

CV Boot kit 6-1052 , replaces Alloy boot 10017K for $9.45.
More a front direct match but will work on the rears also.

 Advanced Auto parts has an almost identical direct replacement Buss 20 amp 12v circuit breaker for my 2002 sp700.
 
 (see picts)  says "cycling" on the Buss package breaker.
They are type 1.

These circuit breakers can cause the headlights and pod lights to flash on and off and go blank.
I used an automotive replacement instead of the $27 Polaris 20 amp breaker.  $5 at Advanced Auto stores!

btw, Thanks to Lewy, Farmr, (also Elkbow, Cajun ,Cob) Vizpit and Snowride and all who went through this before... this forum saved me a lot of money!

not a part # but my local cv axle shop for cars will rebuild any atv axle if the shaft isnt broken they will rebuild and put new boots on for 75.00-90.00 all with same day service, they did my rhino and polaris 500 axles, check with your local shops you never know. if you are in the memphis tn area they are Zellners on white station at summer.

Has anyone put the 800 sportsman exaust on a 700 sportsman yet?

Just wanted to know if duel works on my 05 700?

I have the same idea. I dont see why it wouldnt work. I did have the 800 single pipe on my old 2002 700 sportsman. On the 2005 sportsman I just dont think there is enough room on the left side for the pipe unless we would have to use 800 plastic.
