I got a few landscaping accounts i do on my days off from the gym but other than that not a job lined up . When september comes all the tourists leave an the island goes back to normal just about 60 thousand people leave believe it or not . So at that time i think ill have a better chance at jobs .

What ever you do try to give a notice, you never know when you might need to cross a bridge again down the road so try not to burn em when you cross em ya know.

The majority of businesses dont care about you one bit. The days of being loyal are long gone.   You have to look out for you.  If you can afford to just quit, do it but if you need an income, in this economy, have something lined up.

As far as what to say, like mentioned, just say what you said here.  "thanks for the opportunity and all the help you given me.  But its just time for me to move on to something else.  I want to leave on good terms, so  I will work a 2 week notice if you need me to."

^^^ Take this job and shove it! I aint workin here no more! LOL.... Probably not the best approach. IMO its best not to burn bridges and give a notice.

Do you make good money?  Do you work regular?  The grass maybe greener on the other side but you still have to mow and maintain it.   Just saying sometimes you need to step back and really see what you have to appreciate it.

yesterday i was sittin at papa johns waiting on my pizza and i saw a gentleman thrown down his papa johns T and walk out with an un-happy look on his face and i watched him walk out to his car and he sat down, started to drive off and forgot the papa johns car top light so he had to turn around walk in and hand the thing to the manager, at that point i was rollin in my truck. (wish i had my video camera)

I live in a completely different environment then you guys . Not to brag but i live on a **** island ...theres more brazilians then white people working illegally here . SO many people come from all over the world to work here im honestly not that afraid to be jobless because i know ill get a job in a short amount of time . So many landscaping jobs , truck driving jobs , catering jobs etc ...so saying people are always hiring here .

My buddy has already been threw 2 jobs in 2 months . Anyways im full time on this island an jobs are looking for that an not for people that live here for just the summer then leave .

As someone who has written a few resignation letters, I can offer some tips.
    1.  Keep it simple and straightforward.  There is no reason to write a novel.  No reason must really be given, especially on paper.
    2. Be polite and courteous, even if you don't want to be.  Thank them for the opportunity, offer to help in the transition, etc.  You never know when you might need a job from him again, or from his buddy, etc.
    3. Give a reasonable notice, especially if you have an important job.  Two weeks is standard.  Offer to help train the new person if possible (if they can hire someone soon enough)
Basically, you just need to write something like:
I have enjoye dmy time working here, I thank you for the opportunities you have provided, but due to my current circumstances I regret to inform you that I must pursue other opportunities in my career.

Is there a lot of lawn work when it is under a couple of feet of snow????  I once worked at a place for 15 years. I at long last was fed up, so I just walked in at quitting time on a friday, tossed them the keys, told them that it had been real and it had been fun, but it just had not been real fun!!! They wanted to know if I was a gonna give them a 2 week notice, and I countered with : Would you give me a 2 week notice if ya was gonna fire me?" Never looked back.
