Has this issue been resolved?  The picture in the Canadian site shows a winch installed with the brush guard.  How about the American version?

i am new to forum but saw the post and thought i would chime in......i work for a yamaha dealer and we have installed three of these us version guards with winch......however we did do some modifications....we contacted yamaha  several times and they say it all is " supposed" to work without mods... but they are wrong....what we have done is grind the tube just above the winch forming a small cavity for the housing of the winch to clear the bar....and iff you have access to a welder it seems like it may need the small hole in that tube filled/welded up.....our customers have been game for this mod and so far no hard impacts to see how it hold up....but best solution we can come up with for now...thanks

Remember if the bumper doesn't bend in a collision the forces are transffered to the frame of the ATV.  I would rather have a bent bumper than a bent frame.

Yea thats what happend to my old 2wd twolf, it had 1/4" steel plate welded in all the joints to make it stronger then my smart little cousin hit a giganhugictanic oak tree and the frame was completly twisted but the bumper just got scraped up real bad [:-].

Nobody has bothered to make one yet onrope. I don't understand it since this bike has been out for 6 months now. Highlifter says their fabricators have one in the works but nothing is for sale yet. Warn says theirs' will several more months in coming. I guess we either wait or get one fabricated ourselves. I will only wait 'till about mid January for HL then I'll get one built custom.

I'll probably do the same in waiting till mid Jan. I would like to fab something myself but time these days is too precious. I noticed that you can get the factory front and rear bumpers on Ebay now. I personally don't like the looks that well of it but maybe it will grow on me.

I like the looks of the factory one and saw it mounted on a 700 Outdoorsman but it won't work with the winch without modification. If I have to take the time to alter it I would just as soon make my own and get exactly what I want.

they have this bumper on ebay now for like 259 plus 32 for shipping
only problem with this one is if you hit a tree pretty hard with this one the bumper is going to give at all and you going to bend your frame.

Not sure if this will work, or if they will pull the pic but here it is.

this is the bumper i have on my 700 with a 4000 warn under it. had to do a little mod to it but it's on there and i love it. hit a couple of trees on the side and it didn't bend at all. so far so good

Does that bumper fit over the factory plastic bumper? It looks like you can see the plastic under it on the left side.

RE: Grizzly 700 Brush Guard FIXED!!! 2007/01/25 10:00:59 (permalink)
Just replaced the "Yamaha Front Brush Guard" with the replacement that Yamaha sent me.  Problem fixed! the upper support bars on the bumper have been moved out to the sides to allow for proper placement of the warn 2.5 winch without modifications with 1/4" space between winch motor and support bar that previosly interfered.

My warn 3.0 still won't fit with the Yamaha winch mounting bracket because the 3.0 winch it is slightly larger.  I will have to use the WARN winch mounting bracket with the mounting holes moved a tad forward to accomadate the 3.0. uhhhggggg.

Does anyone have a picture of this brushguard taken from the side?  I have a Montana Jacks winch mount with a XT30 winch and it looks like the winch will interfere with the top crossbar. I've tried all the local dealers and Yamaha customer service and no one had a picture or could give me any measurements. I hate to buy one and not be able to use it.

I know this is a free speech nation, but there has been enough trash talk about this bumper on this thread already.  As you learned in grade school, if you don't have anything nice to say...  Some of us like this bumper, and just want some hard facts and experience on it.  I'm not asking anyone else to buy it!!

well i been having mine sense 07.. i got it went i bought my bike an i like mine bumper.. it looks cool an i like it because it sticks out a little.. good for making trails an running over trees.. it can get hung up on other bikes as you push them out sometimes, but dont they all do that... the paint scratches a little, but what you expect.. it is metal, an when 2 metals rud agains each other they will scratch an then rust a little...
