jksimpson yes i would deff say that 39mm carbs would not keep up on a 900 stroker running no air box you are rushing way to much air to the motor for that small of carbs.. why dont you run some custom intakes with a dominator or something atleast if it was me i would be running something better than the webers and with a dial a kit in it as sensitive as elevation is and running no airbox... p.s good luck re-sleeving that motor atleast 2 times a year.. Never heard of the **** 900's dropping sleeves. 44 webers are plenty for my motor. i dont change elevation enough to worry about it, i ride at a different elevation one time a year. ****'s seem to hold together pretty well, including head gaskets.

nope i havent made my own bracket yet im thinking about just taking them apart setting them up on the bike and then marking and cutting down the factory bracket or just making my own bracket.. jbberza im hoping to do the same find the materials for cheap then one of my mud truck racing buddies has some connections with a driveshaft company they have made him shafts hold up to his big motors that no one else could get to hold up. eastcoastmud racing. only comment i had toward sleeves is if your not running a airbox i dont see how your going to make it a long time without having to sleeve that motor again and again these motors suck way to much air and the airfilter is not going to catch everything with out some help.. 44 webers are plenty for your motor i just think a nice set of dominators would be kick **** sitting on top of a brute..lol.. good luck with it those v's are some fast bikes only one question why did you go with 900cc's and not the 1000cc kit???

If you need some help with setting the carb brackets up, hit me up. I have a template made up to make the carbs fit.

when i did mine, i just cut the brackets in half, placed the carbs on the intakes with the brackets overlapping, and tacked them together, then i unbolted the brackets off the carbs and tacked them to a metal table, and straight through em with a cutting wheel to cut off all the excess, welded back and grinded em flat and booyah

I would like to know how those carbs turn out. I just completed my build with std wisecos, 20thous off heads, a little port clean-up, CWR418 cams, and replaced the tiny 2in MIMB snorkel with a full 3in AND a 2in. I was told that the stock carbs would be plenty for mine as I was considering buying the 39s. Cant beat the price for them off ebay!

prairies/v's as small as 698's and 730's benefit from switching to 36's, i can't see why your build wouldn't benefit from the 39's. I guess it all comes down to whether or not you are willing to go through all the extra trouble just to get every little bit of power..

Some have said that with the Std bore builds, the stock carbs are plenty. supposivley with the 39s, the launch is more controlable and they really shine at higher rpms and higher speeds. Dont know for sure as I have not run them and are just going by others feed back with their experience
