Me personally I would snorkle it and pipe it and jet once just in case it changes after you add the snorks.  JMO

Also I thought we were pushing to get this thread put in the help section thread?

I've jetted mine and cut the leg off and it runs great. But if the leg blocked the hole what would be the difference of the leg blocking it or never drilling a hole to start with? A stock bike runs fine with no hole it doesn't flood. The hole doesn't control gas, it controls vacuum . The extra hole is to help the slide open faster . So if you blocked the hole it would be like you never  drilled one. I cut the leg off so the vacuum could help open the slide .If you don't  cut the leg off there's no reason to drill the hole.[&o] IMO

If you look down into the slide you will see 5 little patitions comeing off the sides of the perch that the neddle sitts on. The legs of the spring seat go between these patitions and holds it form spining. If you drill the hole inline with one of these patitons the feet won't cover it up .

you know i drilled mine in accordance to the dyno jet instructions and they were real scarce with the details, so now if this is what can cuase the low idle miss then i shall have to take my brute apart and check the feet to see if they are truley the culprate, but why would it start 6 months after the fact you know? anyone.....[:(]

first i think i may have discovered what may well be the problem.  I have a 2005 Brute Force 750 that has Bayou Snorkels, full HMF penland exhaust, twin air power flow kit, and dynatec.  my problem is that i couldn't get it jetted right i had the dynojet jet kit installed and had done all the fixes from all forums buzz connector etc etc etc.  acted like it was running rich then running lean just never would settle down.  I ended up saying to **** with it and took my four wheeler to have it dynoed at xtreme racing here in Mississippi and let me tell you that my Brute has never ran better and this is what you should do.  however i will tell you that my brute is an odd ball in that the rear cylinder instead of taking a larger jet size than the front takes a smaller one than the front.  I highly recommed getting your bike dynoed to see if this is your problem the people at xtreme racing were really helpful and explained that they have seen this happen on a handful of Brutes that they have dynoed and simply said that best they can figure is that these cylinders and parts are cast and may have some simple flaws in the casting or something but who knows and i don't care it is running like never before and i couldn't be happier.

For thsoe that haven't drilled the hole in the slide yet... drill it to where the hole isn't directly on the leg that way you don't have to go cutting one of the legs.

Glad to see this thread is still helping out.

I agreee if you know about how critical the hole and leg alighnment are, you could drill in the right location and not have to cut the leg off.  Unfortunately, the Dyo instructions dont indicate that.

When I first got my BF i had to take the carbs apart to clean them and not knowing anything about these machines i put the smaller jet in the rear and the bigger one in the front and it ran awesome. It was stock then however now i have the Dyno-jet kit in it.
