Did HighLifter change axle shaft design?

Hello, I have a question. I have a 2015 Can am Maverick XMR. About 2 months I bought a front Left HighLifter axle. The shaft was much larger than stock and was really beefy looking and had the Highlifter part number on the shaft. Well about three weeks ago my son broke my stock front right shaft so I ordered a Right HighLifter axle. When this axle arrived, I noticed that the actual shaft was much smaller than my Left axle and was actually slightly smaller than my stock axle. Upon further inspection I noticed that the part number on the shaft doesn't match the number on the box. I ran the number and it came back to a ebay trail boss. I contacted the dealer that I purchased it from and informed him of my situation. He then contacted HighLifter and they supposedly told him that's the right part and that they had actually changed suppliers on the shaft and that it's just as strong as the old shaft because of some special heat treatment. Do any of you know if this is true? I'm scared to use it because of it being so small looking and want to make sure that no one is pulling my chain. Thanks!

I talked to Dan today and he said that it's defiantly not a High Lifter axle and that they haven't changed designs. So he has another one coming to me. Dan was excellent to talk to and extremely helpful.

Just a follow up. Dan sent me the new axle and it was exactly like the one before. So they have indeed changed suppliers. The new axle is much smaller in diameter and when you google the part number it comes to this: Needless to say, they will be getting this axle back. You would think that HL would have enough common sense to have at least removed the other company's part number.

They offer a cv axle for your bike. Then they offer a DHT cv axle for your bike. The DHT is the one you want not just the cv axle. That should be the difference between the two. They change the type of boot but that's it to my knowledge. I run them on front of my Rzr 1000. They both broke and warranty covered them. IMO they are not much stronger then stock. But that's just my opinion. I still run them and have my stocks for back ups. I don't beat on my bike either. The 1st one broke going down the trail. Got hard to steer then let go. May been heat issue that caused it to bind up. The other may have been from a hole in the boot. Hope you got it sorted out. HL has always treated me good. But by direct. There shipping is super fast. BTW im not affiliated with HL once so ever. Just a long time customer.

Unfortunately they don't offer the DHT for the Maverick. It's all good, HL refunded my money and made it right. They (HL) just needs to do a better job of letting the people in sales know when there is a change such as this.
