89 Suzuki LT250 Quadrunnner.......valve adjustment

I have a 89 Quadrunner my kids loves, and was running well but now I can't get it to start without push starting......been told it needs valves adjusted as they are very noisy.....anyone know the process and the specs???

    Have you done a compression check? At sea level standard 142-199psi. Service limit 114psi. Do that first. If you want to check valve clearance... intake 0.3-0.8mm (0.001-0.003 in) exhaust 0.08-0.13mm (0.003-0.005 in). There are valve adjuster caps, one on each side of the cylinder head. 17mm wrench and remove the caps to adjust.

    The manual does not recommend doing your own service on the valves as it takes lots of special tools and experience. If adjusting doesn't work out take the whole cylinder head to the shop.
