It's going to take a lot more than a little difference in towing to make me change from ford to chevy.

You would think with the power numbers the Ford has it would be able to be closer to the Chevy in those test, it must really "spike" on those high power numbers for a real short time.

But with that said i would buy the Ford over the Chevy just for looks alone know way i would take attlei better towing for a ugly truck..lol oh JMO on the looks after owning Chevys for 25yrs they have went way away from their norm on the looks style and anything about the new trucks, they just look "Foreign" to me inside and out..

i think when he said soft front end he was talking about straight axle compared to independent. that's what i would say anyway. Also the interiors on these trucks do not even compare. the GM interior looks like a cheap minivan. especially the dash board.

I won't dis agree on any of that.  I wouldn't have a chevy casue of the ifs.  I wouldn't have a ford cause of the motor and here in 2012 i wouldn't have a dodge cause of the motor.  So guess i'll stay with my 05 cummins.  I have kicked the idea around of getting a 05 or 06 chevy and doing a sas dana 60 under the front.  I really like the 99-07 chevy trucks there the best overall imo.  Or a 05 ford with a 5.9 in it would be nice and some dynatrac hubs to fix the plastic issue.  Everyone has to have a dream lol.

The Ford engineers have some more work to do on the high altitude fueling schedule for sure, why do you think GM wanted to test it at that kind of elevation?  Oh well im at sea level and the new Lmm gmc that a guy at work got I have out ran already and the interior in this 11' is second to none..  Ford has the best truck on the market IMO.
Here is a pic of mine.

My mileage stayed the same or was improved slightly when mine was flashed to 400hp.  When I installed my tires though I lost some but I expected that.
I dont see where you can say that the hubs have been a problem,i've drove Ford SD's since 06 and NEVER had a problem outta the hubs and im constantly in and out of 4x4 on these muddy roads..

Yes sir I had a few HD Dmax trucks back in 01 and 04 but with all the injector troubles and the weak front ends(Tie Rods bending) and a few other things went over to Ford in 06 and havent looked back, this 11' is the best truck Ford has built I love it.  Very tough truck that will withstand a Ton of offroad abuse.

Along with being able to withstand the abuse, it also has the best interior in my opinion. both in looks and in function.

how could i say a plastic hub is junk well lets see its plastic and it has to lock in place and hold a load i don't know were i would ever get the idea plastic isn't good there.  Also the 2011 fords ride just as ruff as the dodges do now.  Somewere between the 2010 and 2011 they lost there ride quality and that was one of the last and few things ford had going for it.  Interior are still as nice as can be.  But dodge is running a very very close second with there new redesign.  But interior aren't what i'm worried bout we buying a truck to tow with i want the best most efficent motor that has over a decade behind it with few changes and is still going.  Cummins FTW

The plastic part in the hubs people are referring to is actually the races in the front unit wheel bearing.  Yes they are plastic, and not just in the Ford.

They don't have lock-out hubs but, they still obviously have wheel hubs don't they?

yes and there is no plactic in a chevy or dodge wheel hud i have personal changed both.  Even the handle on the ford hud is plastic.  I still can't figure what the point if for the lock out hud on a ford.  They have auto in the cab so am i really going to get out and lock my hub if i can do it form in the cab.... no...  Reason ford must have it is cause they know its guna break and you will have to do it manually.  Also what people never bring up when talking aobut fuel milage is the fact that fords have lock out hubs.  IMO they should get a whole lot better fuel milage then dodge or chevy becasue everything is spiing at all times on chevy and dodge.  They say dynatrac hubs on a dodge will gain up to 5 mpg.

Once again, THEY ALL HAVE PLASTIC RACES IN THE FRONT WHEEL HUBS.   And yes the twist knob on the Ford lockout is plastic, as it has been since the 70s, which is okay since the knob holds no torque load.  The lockouts do help mileage and save wear and tear on the u-joints.  They all should still have lockouts but, they don't for the same reason they have heated seats.  Americans are getting softer, fatter, and lazier.

i still disagree with the plastic race statement and i will be pulling on apart tommorow just to see.  I do agree with all should be equiped and americans are lazier statement.  I'm surprised no one ever mentions that when they start talking about milage.  On ever forum i have ever been on and made close to the same statement it was like a acto fo congress getting people to understnad what i was saying about the hubs and the milage.  Also it is true a few lock out are plastic but not as big and chessey as the ones on the newer fords say bout 99 and up.
