1200 yamaha atv

i saw this in a magazine bout a month ago in a DRs office.  It said that yamaha is coming out with the largest utilit atv motor on the market, A FRIKKIN 1200.  I was wonderin if anyone else has heard of this.  It had a picture and everything.

Yamaha closed down their Research and Development department because of the poor economy. Nothing new will come for years now.

Maybe the 125 is already done and ready for production. Do a search there is another thread on here about how hard the low 2009 sales whacked Yamaha worldwide.

you would think that they still need R&D to prepare for the future.

Ya that's what one would think, maybe the R&D is just scaled way back. I'll go find the post where the guy had the info and post it again on this thread.

Here's the post by Dezz. Dezz is a good poster and I believe it when he sez something :)

As of right now, Yamaha's R&D department is shut down. You will not be seeing anything new coming from Yamaha for a while. This does not just include their atv line, but everything they make. From motorcycles, to snowmachines to generators. 2009 was a really bad year, and Yamaha got hit hard as well. They sold approximately 800,000 LESS outboard motors in 2009 than in 2008, just in the USA alone. That does not include the rest of the world, nor does it include ANY other product they make. Simply put, Yamaha got hit hard in 2009 with sales and profits were really low. So there isn't much money to spend on making completely new models of anything. The new Rhino release is on hold. Hopefully things return to normal quicker than sooner and we can start relying on Yamaha to produce some new, great products.
